Globe Telecom Inc. hauled in over 349,000 new subscribers and improved services for 640,000 customers after aggressive rollout and network builds this year, announced Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.
The telco has installed 199 new cell sites and completed at least 1,619 site upgrades nationwide as of June and July 2021.
As a result, customers noted a 100% improvement in downloading videos, web browsing and in the speed of their connectivity while doing internet-related activities.
The improvement of services likewise resulted in longer data usage of customers, which increased by as much as 100% in areas where the latest network rollouts and builds were made.
“By pushing for the strategic builds and site upgrades despite the challenges of the pandemic, we were able to address the demands for connectivity not only in highly urbanized areas but also new locations where our presence is equally needed,” the SVP explained.
Customers in Cebu, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Cagayan, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Tarlac, Zambales and parts of Metro Manila topped the areas where significant improvements were felt.
Customers in Davao del Sur, Bulacan, Benguet, Rizal, Qurino, Cavite, Isabela, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Capiz, Antique, Negros Oriental and Davao del Norte–also reported improvements.
