A new graphic novel will tell the late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury’s life story in his own words, from his childhood in Zanzibar to becoming one of the world’s most famous rock stars.
Z2 Comics has collaborated with Universal Music Group and Mercury Songs Ltd on Freddie Mercury: Lover Of Life, Singer Of Songs, which it describes as “the first-ever graphic novel paying tribute to one of the music world’s greatest figures.”
The book, which will be published in November, will look back on Mercury’s life both on and off the stage.
“The story is told in his own words, with each chapter giving a glimpse into the many facets of his life,” Z2 Comics said in a statement
Mercury died in 1991 of AIDS-related pneumonia.
