The Ministry of Health in Singapore investigated the cases of COVID-19 infection among the workers of Hua Zai food outlets after discovering a likely ongoing transmission.
According to the MOH, all 26 Hua Zai outlets that sell roasted meat will be closed to the public from Tuesday, June 1 to June 14 to break any potential chain of transmission and allow thorough cleaning of the premises.
The Hua Zai outlet in NTUC Foodfare at Block 308 Anchorvale Road in Sengkang has been closed since May 30, after a cluster linked to the coffee shop was formed. The cluster now has nine cases associated with it.
As of writing, Singapore has reported 18 new COVID-19 cases. Eight were linked to previous cases, with six already on quarantine and two detected through surveillance, said the Ministry of Health (MOH).
Seven with no links to previous cases, while there were also three imported cases, who had been placed on stay-home notice upon arrival in Singapore.
