Top PC manufacturers to make environment-friendly computers

Top computer manufacturers, such as Acer and Lenovo, are embracing sustainable strategies, such as laptops made of recycled and environmentally friendly materials to achieve carbon neutrality.
Acer announced on Friday, May 28, the use of recycled materials in the manufacture of computers as it commits to 100% renewable energy use by 2035.
The Earthion platform of Acer, with Aspire Vero laptop as its first product, is a sustainability-focused platform that targets the use of 100% renewable energy; product design using green innovations; packaging design using less packaging and more recycled materials; production by minimizing the impact on the environment; logistics by leaving a smaller carbon footprint; and recycling, reusing, and repurposing resources.
On the other hand, Lenovo is exploring carbon neutrality and has a target of net-zero emissions by 2050 which posted record revenue of US$63.4 billion in the fiscal year ended in March.
Environmental, social and corporate governance has become a key standard for a good and reliable company, according to both Chen and Yang Yuanqing, Lenovo’s chairman.
Lenovo was No. 1 for global PC sales in the first quarter, while Acer took the No. 5 position, according to researcher International Data Corp.
