B. League: NeoPhoenix loses against Mikawa as the Filipino import gets benched

San-En NeoPhoenix lost by five points against SeaHorses Mikawa as the latter held on to an 80-75 victory on Sunday in the 2020-2021 B.League at Wing Kariya Arena.
The NeoPhoenix’s Filipino import, Thirdy Ravena was set to start in the team’s second straight game but the head coach Branislav Vicentic decided to sit him out in the last minute after sustaining a left knee injury as announced on May 1, Saturday.
San-En had to rely on Kyle Hunt’s 21 points and seven rebounds.
Stevan Jelovac also had 19 points, 16 rebounds, and four assists, but the absences of Thirdy Ravena, Hayato Kawashima, and Nenad Miljenovic were just too much for San-En as they fell to 12-46.
Meanwhile, the Seahorses improved to a a 32-20 record.
Ravena’s fans hope to see him gear up for the team’s final game of the season on Wednesday, May 5 against the Shinshu Brave Warriors. This game was rescheduled as per league COVID-19 protocols after two Shinshu players tested positive for the virus.
